Overview

The Uluguru terrain is accessible and can be explored throughout the year, except during the heavy rains that occur from March to May. During this period, the terrain can become challenging due to the increased precipitation and potential for muddy conditions. However, the rest of the year offers favorable weather and accessibility, allowing visitors to fully experience the natural beauty and diversity of the Uluguru region.

FULL ITINERARY

Day 1:

• Departure @08:00am Dar to Mgeta, drive past Morogoro Town, 191km
• Dinner and overnight at Nyandira hostel or camping at Bunduki site

Day 2:

• After breakfast, drive to Kibagala village (optional)/start hiking to Lukwangule plateau (2600m ASL) for about 7hrs return depending on the pace.
• Packed Lunch.
• Back to the hostel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3:

• Drive to Hululu, hike to the waterfalls (for about 3 hours return)
• Swimming and taking pictures
• Picnic – Packed lunch
• After hiking, drive to Morogoro town and hike to Tulo camp site (8km)
o Camp fire, Dinner and overnight at Tulo camp site
• Accommodation – tents

Day 4:

• After breakfast, hike to Bondwa peak (2100m ASL), about 5.5 hours return.
• Packed Lunch
• Camp fire, Dinner and overnight at Tulo camp site

Day 5:

• Walking down from Tulo camp site to Choma waterfalls (4.5km) – not allowed to swim
• Further descent to town (5km)
• Freshen up and leave for Dar es Salaam
